[Event Recap] Haleon LEAP Conference 2025

We are proud to share that our Centre Co-Director, Dr. Ann Lau, was invited to speak at the Haleon LEAP Conference 2025 on October 15. Engaging with approximately 100 participants from Shanghai and Hong Kong in this hybrid gathering, she offered an insightful framework for addressing contemporary medical challenges.

Dr. Lau took the audience on a journey of bioethics, clearly articulating how ethical principles serve as a vital enabler for trustworthy and sustainable healthcare. By translating complex concepts into actionable insights for a diverse audience, she explored pressing issues in modern research, from cloning to data integrity. Throughout her talk, Dr. Lau emphasized that bioethical reasoning is not a barrier to innovation, but rather an essential guide for its responsible application.

We are truly heartened by the positive feedback from participants, who found the session "clear", "thought-provoking", and "highly relevant to their work". It is incredibly rewarding to see our efforts resonate so strongly and spark meaningful conversations about bioethics in practice. Your recognition inspires us to continue making bioethics an accessible and guiding force.

The CUHK Centre for Bioethics remains committed to fostering meaningful dialogue and education on bioethical issues, bridging academic insight, clinical practice, and public engagement to promote ethical awareness and responsible progress in health and science.
