[Event Recap] CUHK Centre for Bioethics & True Light Girls’ College – Bioethics Day

The Bioethics Day, co-hosted by the CUHK Centre for Bioethics (CBIOE) and True Light Girls’ College (TLGC), successfully concluded on September 19th!

Designed for TLGC students from Secondary 1 to Secondary 6, the event engaged participants through diverse interactive activities that encouraged thoughtful exploration of bioethical issues relevant to the young generation:

➤ S1–S2: An immersive “Trolley Problem” activity that challenged students to navigate real-life ethical dilemmas;
➤ S3–S4: A stimulating ethical debate competition focusing on critical bioethical topics to foster students’ analytical and communication skills;
➤ S5–S6: Interactive workshops with role-playing exercises that examined complex topics such as surrogacy and reproductive technology.

The success of the event was made possible through the active participation of TLGC students, teachers, Bioethics Ambassadors, and CBIOE Bridge Builders. We hope this experience will inspire young people to cultivate critical thinking and ethical reasoning, empowering them to raise insightful questions and engage in rational discourse in their daily lives.

The CUHK Centre for Bioethics remains committed to connecting with secondary schools and the community to explore different bioethical issues and raise ethical awareness among young people.
