[Event Recap] HKU AI and Doctor–Patient Relationship Lunchtime Seminar
On 26 June, our Centre Co‑Director, Prof. Roger Chung, spoke at a lunchtime seminar hosted by the HKU Medical Ethics and Humanities Unit, joining an interdisciplinary panel with Dr. Rebecca Brendel MD, JD, Prof. Carl Hildebrand, Prof. Emmanuel Cheung, and moderator Dr. Johanna Gutlerner.
In his spark talk, titled The AI‑Driven Transformation of the Doctor–Patient Relationship, Prof. Chung explored AI's impact on the doctor‑patient relationship, arguing that the real challenge is preserving human connection and empathy — and that medical education must evolve to meet this shift.
