New Centre Director Comes On Board

Welcome to the CUHK Centre for Bioethics.

It is with great pleasure that I join the CUHK Centre for Bioethics in March 2017, to work with passionate colleagues from different disciplines in driving the cause of the Centre.  Already robust academic activities and scholarly programmes are in place, and exciting plans and possibilities are on the horizon.

The CUHK Centre for Bioethics, established on the 9th of January 2015 and housed in the Faculty of Medicine, is committed to fostering interdisciplinary research, education and public engagement on important ethical issues in health care and biomedical research.  It treasures and continues to build collaborations with local and international institutes in the field.

It is a given fact that rapid advances in medicine and biotechnology will give rise to new ethical challenges, and age-old complex ethical issues in health care and research cannot be considered to have been all resolved.  Open interdisciplinary dialogue and discourse are more important than ever in an increasingly disconnected world.  It is our goal to build platform for such dialogue and discourse.  Looking ahead, we will strive to build the Centre into a hub of resources in health care ethics and research ethics for educators and policy-makers in Hong Kong and beyond.  We look forward to your joining hands with us.
