Event Recap

Reflecting on a Milestone Hybrid Event: CU Medicine x NAM Collaboration

Despite the unexpected weather with Typhoon Tapah, the show went on—with an important live moment! On September 8, 2025, the CUHK–NAM Distinguished Lecture and International Health Policy Fellowship Seminar was successfully held online via Zoom.

Dr. Victor DZAU delivered a visionary lecture on The New Frontier of Healthy Longevity, highlighting the importance of shifting the focus from aging to healthspan—prioritizing quality of life alongside longevity. Prof. Kim Hei Man CHOW also shared valuable insights on Bridging Basic Research and Public Health Programs to Advance Sustainability in the Prevention of Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias.

In a symbolic display of commitment, the MOU signing ceremony was held on-site as planned, officiated by Prof. Philip Chiu, Dean of CU Medicine, and Dr. Victor DZAU, President of National Academy of Medicine. Leaders from both institutions formally solidified their collaborative partnership during this significant ceremony.

This hybrid experience highlighted our shared values—innovation, equity, and resilient leadership in global health policy. Even when weather posed challenges, collaboration prevailed.

A heartfelt thank you to all attendees, speakers, and organizers for your adaptability and support. Science and partnership know no boundaries—rain or shine!
