Our Professor (by courtesy) Prof. Helen Chan and Research Fellow (by courtesy) Dr. Wai-Tat Wong were invited to speak at the upcoming Conference on “Medical & Surgical Decisions in Critically Ill Patients: Cross-Cultural Perspectives on Challenging Ethical Issues” co-organized by the University of Chicago MacLean Center for Clinical Medical Ethics and the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine on 4 May 2024 (Saturday). The event was also co-supported by the CUHK Centre for Bioethics, Medical Ethics & Humanities Unit and the Centre for Medical Ethics and Law of HKU.

 

Prof. Chan discussed “Ethical and Cultural Issues in Advance Care Planning in Chinese Communities” while Dr. Wong presented on “Talking About Death in the Acute Hospital Setting”.
