Prof. Nancy S. Jecker, Ph.D. is Professor of Bioethics and Humanities at the University of Washington School of Medicine and was elected President of the International Association of Bioethics (2022-present). Dr. Jecker was selected as a Fulbright U.S Scholar (2021-22) and twice awarded the Japanese Society for the Promotion of Science Fellowship (2018, 2020). She is a three-time Rockefeller Foundation Fellowship awardee (2020, 1989, 1987-88). Her research explores global perspectives in bioethics and philosophy in collaboration with scholars throughout the world, especially sub-Saharan Africa and East Asia. Prof. Jecker has published over 200 articles and 4 books on topics such as justice and resource allocation, individual and societal aging, futile medical treatment, and social robots.
