中大腦科學家榮獲第三屆國際衞生政策研究員獎學金
為應對全球人口老化提供以科學爲本的衛生政策建議
香港中文大學（中大）理學院生命科學學院助理教授周熙文教授獲選為美國國家醫學院（NAM）第三屆國際衞生政策研究員獎學金得獎人。這個獎學金旨在訓練和培育全球衞生政策人才，為全球現時及將來面臨最具挑戰的健康問題尋求解決方案。
周教授的研究嘗試了解與病理性大腦老化和相關的神經退化性疾病的機制。她的研究項目旨在揭示身體代謝狀態如何影響大腦的中樞新陳代謝，從而增加認知障礙及腦退化症的風險。在獎學金的支持下，她將展開爲其兩年的研究，其中四分之一的時間將於美國華盛頓特區停留，接受美國國家科學院、美國國家工程學院及美國國家醫學院培訓，並選擇一份美國國家學院報告作爲參考，協助將她的研究重點與醫療保健政策相結合。
