This July at the 18th World Congress of Bioethics (WCB) in Johannesburg, the Harvard Medical School Center for Bioethics and CUHK Centre for Bioethics are convening our 3rd joint symposium.

We are excited to announce the upcoming international conference: “Existential Threats and Other Disasters: Novel (Bio)ethical Solutions for Novel Challenges”, hosted by The Center for the Study of Bioethics in partnership with The Hastings Center for Bioethics, CUHK Centre for Bioethics, and Columbia University’s Master of Bioethics Program.

掌握生命抉擇 —《維持生命治療的預作決定條例》研討會

當生命懸於一線，法律、倫理與臨床應如何引導決策？ 由香港中文大學生命倫理學中心聯同大銀、遺善最樂、香港生命倫理學會、香港生死學協會及香港預設照顧計劃學會合辦的掌握生命抉擇 —《維持生命治療的預作決定條例》研討會，將匯聚學者、醫護及社福界專業人士、以及社區代表，深入探討這項新條例在晚期照顧中的意涵及影響。 屆時，本中心將推出《維持生命治療的預作決定條例：概要》，為與會者及公眾提供清晰易懂的重點與實務指引。活動亦會講解精神行為能力與預設照顧計劃的重要概念，並設有座談會，邀請不同持份者分享多元觀點，透過討論共同探討和審視該條例在臨床實踐中的倫理涵義及實務應用。

The Croucher Workshop on Responsible AI in Action: Cross-Disciplinary Strategies for Ethics, Governance and Safety was successfully held at The Chinese University of Hong Kong on December 1-2. The energy and depth of discussion underscored a global commitment to steering AI toward ethical, safe, and equitable outcomes.

The National Academy of Medicine (NAM) Distinguished Lecture cum International Health Policy Fellowship Seminar

Established in 2017, NAM’s first-ever International Health Policy Fellowship Program, in collaboration with CUHK Centre for Bioethics, seeks early- to mid-career scholars in the fields of bioethics, medical ethics and law, economics and health policy, and health care who are interested in — and committed to — improving care and access to care for patients in domestic and global health care systems.
